Yasemin Deniz’s Career Journey

Yasemin Deniz Giammona, the creator of the skincare brand “Mikash” started her journey to help others by creating a chemical-free skincare line.

Having a tough upbringing that also involved school bullying, Yasemin decided to drop out of high school once she turned 14 and 9 months.

She has always had a passion to achieve her goals and to become successful. Joining the workforce at the age of 14, Yasemin had realised that her age was being taken advantage of.

She was not receiving legal pay and was not being accepted in many jobs she applied for because of her lack of experience and age.

As Yasemin had quit her underpaid job, she had realised there was a clothing store across the street that happened to always be quiet. She walked into the store and offered them to hire her as a manager and promised them that she will up their sales.

Being 15 at the time she wasn’t being taken seriously again, but Yasemin wasn’t willing to leave the store until they hired her. They decided to give her a chance, and in her 6 months of working as a store manager, the sales had become so successful which resulted in them opening a second store.

Yasemin had entered her first step into the beauty field at the age of 16, she was hired by an agency that placed her as a replacement traveller for David Jones and Myer. In her second year of working as a traveller, Yasemin had been offered to work for the beauty industry, Estee Lauder.

Working for a successful brand, Yasemin had been introduced to the creation of beauty products.

After being professionally guided with how products work for every skin type, Yasemin was then able to recognise which product will be suitable for any skin type.

Being the top sales employee, she had a high target to reach each day. Yasemin aimed to never lie to a customer, although she had a target sale set for the day she wouldn’t lie to a customer to reach the goal.

Her honesty to customers had allowed her to grow in her sales position.

After working in multiple beauty industries, Yasemin wanted to make a change.

She didn’t want to continue working with beauty brands that were based on chemical products, so she decided to create her skincare line. Her business, Mikash has been on the market since 2017.

Her skincare products are hand made in Australia and are only certified organic ingredients that are locally sourced.

Her products are free from toxic chemicals, 100% natural and safe. In 2019, Mikash ‘Organic Barrier Balm’ has been awarded 1st place for Australian Non-Toxic Award Winners.

Yasemin believes her biggest support is her faith, family, and her community. Her aim with her skincare line was to help others with healing their skin, therefore receiving positive feedbacks from her customers motivates her to achieve her goal.

Yasemin also supports her community by providing harmless and chemical-free products.

Her Mikash social media page consists of detailed information about each product, which skin type they are recommended to use for, and how to correctly use the product.

She posts before and after photos of her client’s skin and she also goes live on her social page to share her skin and health care routine.

Yasemin’s future aim is to grow her skincare line with more organic products that are supportive for multiple skin types. She works hard every day to come up with creations of products that will help skin types which need healing.

As a community, we are grateful to have business owners like Yasemin who’s priority is providing the best service for her customers and as the Turkish News Press family, we would like to thank Yasemin Deniz Giammona for taking the time to do this interview with us and wish her the best in her future endeavours.
